We are strongly in favor of this new section based on the science. Coffee consumption has never actually been proven to be a carcinogenic and, in fact, has been proven to provide many health benefits. The USDA has even recommended coffee intake as part of a healthy diet, so the contradictory Prop 65 labeling requirement is confusing. My fear is that consumers are becoming trained to ignore Prop 65 signage (I certainly do) because it doesn't reflect real risk. That will be unfortunate when there is real risk; the state will have lost credibility with consumers.
