As a grocery retail analyst I strongly oppose mandatory coffee labeling under prop 65. like most government initiatives, Prop 65 was created under the guise of protecting the consumer, but all it actually does it make frivolous lawsuits more common resulting in those costs being passed on to the customer. Over saturation of warnings in California will lead to the consumer not taking actual warnings serious. If you put a warning on everything that warning no longer has meaning. The coffee roasting process, and the byproducts of it, are not harmful and should not be treated as such. The consumer shouldn't be punished because attorneys want to manipulate prop 65 to their financial benefit.
